The Navigator Company has revealed plans to increase tissue prices by 8 – 10% in the Iberian markets and above 10% outside Iberia.

The increase will be effective for all dispatches from 1 December.

It said the decision was taken following the “generalised and very significant” price hikes in many input cost, mainly in commodities including pulp, chemical products, packaging products and logistics.

A company spokesman added that, to date, the world index for pulp prices increased 78% since January 2021: Electricity costs are 3.6 times higher than in 2020 in Portugal; natural gas is 5.8 times higher.

“Similar trends are verified across all European countries.”
