The start-up team at Poland’s Filar tissue plant

Poland’s Filar has started producing tissue for high-quality tissue paper production.

Supplied by Hergen, the EVO 12 machine has a HCF 1225 Crescent Former, a Suction Press with a diameter of 1,050mm and a 3.6m Yankee Cylinder made of steel.

Designed to work at 1,700m/min, the machine will product 70tpd of two-ply paper (15g/m2) and up to 100tpd of other types of paper.

The project has two lines of pulp (hardwood and softwood), which allows for working with products that present excellent softness and resistance characteristics.

The machine is part of the company’s largest ever investment in its sanitary paper business.

A brand-new factory has been built to house the mine and the facilities will also have a logistics centre.
