(News from RISI) – A fire broke out at APP China’s Haikou facility on China’s southernmost island of Haina at the end of October, incinerating several thousand tonnes of tissue products at an open storage yard.
Local firefighters rushed to the site and put out the fire, which lasted for several hours.
A company spokesman said that the damage caused by the fire incident was minor and no casualties have been reported.
Operations on the nearby tissue machine and construction of the two PMs were not affected at all.
The two new units are being supplied by the company’s subsidiary, Jinshun Machinery.
The company and the local authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze.
