Colombia’s GrandBay Papeles Nacionales has increased its production capacity after investing in a Toscotec-supplied AHEAD 2.2 turnkey tissue line.

PM5 will be based at the company’s Pereira production base and is scheduled for start-up in 2024.

It has a sheet trim width of 3.6m, a design speed of 2,200m/min and an annual production capacity of over 40,000 tons.

It features a TT NextPress latest shoe press generation, a third-generation design TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer with patented heads insulation system, and high efficiency TT Hood.

Papeles Nacionales operates a tissue mill in Pereira, Colombia, and is part of the GrandBay Group, a Latin American company established in 1953 and dedicated to the manufacturing, converting and sales of personal care and home products of premium quality, with presence in more than 25 countries in Central America, the Andean and Caribbean region.

It is Toscotec’s second project with GrandBay which is also currently installing a complete AHEAD 2.2L tissue line at GrandBay Papelera Internacional in Guatemala.
