BTG has introduced its BTG Single Point Morphology (SPM-5550) – a building block for fibre morphology solutions – into the tissue market.
It is the latest addition to BTG’s portfolio that aims to provide more information to better understand fibres.
The online Morphology analyser measures several fibre properties including length, surface, kink and shives content.
It is mounted directly to the fibre processing pipe and contains all unit operations of the traditional multi-point Morphology analyser, which BTG said results in a much faster measurement of frequency to support 4.0 solutions.
Solutions incorporating the SPM have been used the pulp, tissue and packaging sectors and, according to the supplier, impact key performance indicators such as fibre costs, energy costs, chemical costs and product quality.
