Kruger Products has started-up PM8 at its Crabtree Plant, a $55m investment that will increase the Canadian tissue manufacturer’s AfH capacity by 30,000 metric tonnes annually.

The purchase of an additional winder pushed the cost of the total investment to $67m.

The Crabtree mill in based in the Lanaudière region of Québec, Canada, and is part of Kruger Products’ east manufacturing division.

It manufactures tissue products for consumer, In-Home, commercial and AfH and it also converts tissue paper made by the Sherbrooke and Laurier mills into finished products.

Kruger Products received a $39.5m loan from Investissement Québec.

PM8 will boost the plants annual production by 29%.
