GZP’s Hergen-supplied Crescent Former TM will improve paper quality and production capacity

Poland’s Głuchołaskie Zakłady Papiernicze (GZP) has boosted its production capacity after starting up a Hergen-supplied Crescent Former HCF 920 Smart TM.

PM2 has replaced the Głuchołazy-based plant’s existing Fourdrinier to significantly improve paper quality, production capacity, and reduce energy consumption.

Hergen’s scope of supply included approach flow engineering, Crescent Former, felt section, suction press and pope reel.

After a short shut down the machine was back in operation producing paper with basis weight ranging from 14g/m² up to 40g/m².

The main raw material is waste paper and virgin pulp and the design speed of the Smart former and machine parts delivered is 1,300m/min.

GZP produces a range of branded tissue products as well as private labels.

The investment is part of the company’s growth plan to improve its product quality and achieve better energy savings.
