ST Paper’s Andritz-supplied PrimeLineTM W 2000 TM is planned for start-up at the end of 2022

China’s Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper has diversified into the tissue market after investing in an Andritz-supplied PrimeLineTM W 2000 at its site in Jiangmen.

The company previous produced printing and writing paper, and the start-up of the tissue machine marks their move into the global tissue business.

Start-up is planned for the end of 2022 and the scope of supply will include an 18ft. PrimeDry Steel Yankee with a steam-heated PrimeDry Hood ST, stock preparation, automation and a PrimePress XT Evo shoe press.

Steven Hung, General Manager of Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper, said: “The tissue business is new to us, but we have rich experience in the production of high-quality printing and writing paper.”

The TM will have a design speed of 1,900m/min and a width of 5.65m.

Once up and running it will produce high-quality grades for paper towels, kitchen rolls, napkins, handkerchiefs, and facial tissue in the range of 11 – 42gsm.

The entire production line will be equipped with an Andritz PrimeControl automation system which the supplier said includes extended features for process automation throughout the tissue line.

Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper is part of the RGE Group, a global player that focuses on pulp and paper production.
