Shawano Specialty Papers, a division of Little Rapids Corporation, has invested in a Toscotec-supplied TT SYD Steel Yankee Dryer.
The dryer will be installed on PM3 at the company’s paper mill in Shawano, Wisconsin, USA.
The installation will replace Shawano Specialty Papers existing cast-iron dryer and is scheduled for start-up in the third quarter of 2022.
Jeff Wolf, Shawano Specialty Papers Engineering Manager, said: “We have two main focuses: first to provide high quality solutions for our customers, and second to continuously reduce our energy consumption and overall environmental impact utilising state-of-the-art technology.”
According to the machinery supplier, the SYD will provide a “significant production increase and thermal energy savings, cutting back the operating costs of the tissue machine”.
Founded in 1947, Little Rapids Corporation is a family-owned business and manufactures MG, tissue, and wet crepe paper for a variety of end-use markets in the consumer, specialty packaging, hygiene, and industrial products markets.
