(News from RISI)- Mexican tissue paper producer Fabrica de Papel San Francisco (FAPSA) has kicked off its third 30,000tpy tissue paper line, taking its total production capacity to 138,000tpy of toilet tissue, napkins and towel grades.

The new line was supplied by Metso, the future Valmet, and comprises a 2.6m width tissue paper machine (PM) with the NTT technology which enables high bulk and softness properties while providing energy savings. The equipment can use both virgin and recycled fibre.

The contract’s scope also included the headbox, yankee cylinder, yankee hood, sheet control, tail threading equipment and a dust management system.

This is the fifth tissue PM operated by FAPSA at its Mexicali mill, installed in the Baja California state, northern Mexico.
