Papeterie Le Bourray boosts facial, toilet, napkin, and towel paper production with PM3 start-up

France’s Papeterie Le Bourray has boosted its production capacity after starting up its Toscotec-supplied PM3 following a complete rebuild of the drying section at its Papeterie Le Bourray plant.

The scope of supply included a custom rebuild and upgrade of the existing machine including the replacement of the cast iron Yankee Dryer with a new-generation Steel Yankee TT SYD-12 FT and new high-efficiency hybrid gas-fired hoods.

The machinery supplier said the project supports the mill in achieving energy consumption reduction whilst optimising its ability to produce facial, toilet, napkin, and towel paper.

François Bourdin, General Director at Papeterie Le Bourray, said: “We continue to maintain a strong level of investment year after year.

“However, the project carried out with Toscotec falls outside our recurring investment budget, which clearly reflects its strategic importance for our paper mill.

“This project is fully aligned with our commitment to sustainable performance. It will help reduce our energy consumption and carbon footprint while ensuring the quality of our products and strengthening our competitiveness.

“We also have a responsibility to maintain and modernise our manufacturing infrastructure order to secure the long-term sustainability of our operations and continue meeting our customers’ expectations over time.”

Founded in 1844, the Papeterie Le Bourray mill manufactures white, coloured, and recycled cellulose wadding.
