Sofidel’s 11,000 m2 warehouse in Ciechanów can handle 32,000 pallets of goods

Sofidel has opened an automated warehouse at its plant in Ciechanów, Poland, boosting its production efficiencies.  

The new 11,000 m2 warehouse can handle 32,000 pallets of goods and according to the business is designed to ensure higher efficiency and safety standards.

The Ciechanów site recently tripled production capacity and today produces 90,000 tons of paper annually

It is the company’s second automated warehouse built in Europe, the first is in Sweden, and the third in the world after the automation line in Circleville, America.   

Sofidel added that through the integration between the enterprise resource planning software for managing customer orders, as well as the warehouse management system for inventory control, it can manage order fulfilment operations more efficiently, automatically recalling product pallets from the warehouse up to the loading docks, with a simplification of logistics and optimisation of incoming/outgoing goods flows.

The production site in Ciechanów is an integrated plant that includes a paper mill and Converting facilities.  

Its production capacity recently tripled, and today it covers an area of 230,000 m2, producing 90,000 tons of paper annually.
