Kimberly-Clark (K-C) has confirmed it is currently in talks with a potential buyer to sell its Niederbipp mill in Switzerland.
A sale would see production of its Hakle-brand toilet paper which is currently made at the plant move to K-C’s Romagnano mill in northern Italy.
The company told TWM that “the proposed sale follows a comprehensive strategic review of its operations in Western Europe, and our focus at this time is on our employees and on making sure negotiations deliver a successful outcome”.
In 2018, K-C announced a global restructuring plan to close or sell approximately 10 manufacturing facilities and expand production capacity at several others to improve overall scale and cost.
