Cascades Tissue Group Wisconsin - close-up view of the Andritz-supplied PrimeDry Hood with Yankee

Cascades Tissue Group Wisconsin has won an energy efficiency award after it replaced and start-up its PM5 Yankee hood at its site in Eau Claire, USA.

Supplied by Andritz, the line is a medium-speed tissue machine producing dry-crepe tissue with a 12ft. Yankee.

The supplier said the PrimeDry Hood is “designed for low energy consumption and long durability”, and that with this upgrade, “production on the line has increased, whilst also reducing specific gas consumption by the hood”.

Due to the energy savings achieved, Cascades Tissue Group Wisconsin has been awarded the 2020 Energy Efficiency Excellence Award by FOCUS ON ENERGY, Wisconsin’s energy efficiency and renewable energy resources programme.

This programme encompasses 107 utilities across the state and aims to provide expertise and financial incentives to residents and businesses to reduce energy consumption or increase energy efficiency.

The project was executed by the Andritz tissue team.
