ICT France is finalising the start-up of a tissue machine at its plant in Pannes, south of Paris, after starting-up a Yankee dryer at the site in October.

The company said the project is “an important milestone” in the site’s development.

It said: “The Yankee, the heart of the new paper machine, has been installed.”

The new tissue machine is understood to have a capacity of 70,000tpy of tissue paper and will double ICT France’s paper capacities at the mill, which currently houses one machine.

ICT France is a subsidiary of Italian ICT Group which operates subsidiaries in Poland, Spain, Germany, and the UK.

In the UK, the company is currently planning a new integrated tissue mill in Deeside in the northeast of Wales.

ICT has also had the €50m expansion of its plant in Piano di Coreglia near Lucca, Italy, officially approved.

Work on the project is scheduled to be completed between 2028 and 2029.
