Albanian tissue paper converting company Geris has increased its production capacity after investing in a Giotto Technologies-supplied core maker and log saw machine.
The scope of supply includes a core maker machine designed to reach high-quality standards in the production of cardboard cores, and a log saw machine that is engineered to ensure cutting precision, operational reliability, and maximum production efficiency.
Geris operates a 12,000 m² facility in Koxhas that is equipped with the latest technology for pure cellulose tissue paper converting and for logistics management.
Sokol Duraj, Chief Executive of Geris, said: “The decision to invest in a new core maker machine and a log saw stems from our desire to improve certain fundamental stages of the converting process.
“The solutions proposed by Giotto Technologies stood out for their innovative features, reliability and ability to improve the performance of our existing line, enabling us to achieve even higher quality standards and greater operational continuity.”
The core maker machine operates at a maximum speed of 160m/min and can produce up to 55 cores per minute in one, two, or three-strip configurations, with a width ranging from 60 to 100mm.
The supplier said the 4-lanes log saw “represents the highest technological standard” on the market: log diameters from 90 to 240mm with a maximum operating speed of 240cuts/min and universal clamps.
Founded in 2008 as a family-owned business, Geris has grown to become one of Albania’s leading manufacturers of tissue paper products for hygienic use.
This investment will enable it to increase productivity and optimise its converting processes, further strengthening its competitiveness in the Albanian and regional markets.
