    “以前我可能会说,我负责一家造纸厂……但这种想法几年前就有所改变。与其说是负责,不如说是经营。” Eric Taylor是Cascades Tissue Group下属一家造纸厂的经理,这家工厂位于北卡罗来纳州的罗京安县。“每天清晨六点半,我开始查看电子邮件以及机器运行数据,一天的工作由此拉开了序幕。确保企业的正常运行一直是这一时段的工作重心,虽然问题总会不时出现,但我们必须在它尚未扩大前及时发现,判断轻重缓急并进行妥善处理。 掌握当前的情况并对紧急问题作出处理或响应后,我才能享用一天的第一杯咖啡。 我会在七点半到八点间达到工厂,着手对夜间的问题进行全面解决,同时利用这段时间来处理冗长的电子邮件。我会尽量抽出时间巡视工厂, 我习惯将巡视安排在九点的业务会议前。巡视工厂是了解企业经营情况的最佳方法。通过查看设备以及与员工交谈,可以确保所有人步调一致、所有事井井有条。 每日业务会议在上午九点召开,全体部门经理都会出席。会议旨在就安全问题进行讨论,并就前一日的业绩以及当日的重点进行回顾和商议。由于每天都开会总结情况,因此所有人都对以往的经营情况和业务表现有详细的了解。当前情况和计划是沟通的重中之重。沟通以面谈方式进行,所有人员都能步调一致,团结一心。对于需要跟进的问题,我们会立即处理,或在安排相应资源后另行解决。 余下的时间通常用于各种参加电话会议、开会、查看邮件,以及为未来计划和展示做准备。午餐时间我通常在工作中度过,这也是一天中最不受打扰的时光。 能够在如此卓越的公司,与一群优秀的同仁一起工作,我感到无比荣幸。多年前我可能会说,我负责一家造纸厂。但这种想法几年前就有所改变。与其说是负责,不如说是经营。 在我任职的 11 年间,造纸厂的文化不断发展。沟通变得开放透明。全体同仁团结协作,同心同德。多年前,除了较大的业务决策外,我还将重心放在微小的技术细节上。因此,我成了员工口中“好问20个问题的经理”。出现机会(也可以称之为问题)时,我可能得问上20个问题才能完全了解问题的程度、已经采取的措施、剩余的选择、尚未采取的手段以及负责人。如今,这些问题全都由员工提出并解决。他们对安全、生产、成本和运行质量的掌握程度不亚于我过去。他们专心致志,及时发现并解决问题,同时不断改进自己的本职工作,这确保我们的经营取得了成功。如今,我的工作重点在于保持并不断提升企业文化。具体细节则由员工管理并负责。 随着一天工作接近尾声,来自部门经理的生产汇报越来越多,他们还会和我当面交流。一天的工作一般在下午五点半到七点间结束,根据需要完成的任务会有所不同。在睡觉前,也就是直到午夜前后,我还会不停地查看电子邮件和工厂运营情况。 对我而言,能与公司同仁共事是一段愉快的经历,他们的成绩令我感到欣慰。但我不会和他们这样说,我只会向他们提‘20个问题’。”
