Toscotec acquires advanced drying solutions supplier Milltech

Toscotec has boosted its service offering after it purchased Milltech, the Lucca, Italy-based supplier of advanced solutions for drying.

The move includes acquiring the entire shareholding from Faper Group.

Alessandro Mennucci, Toscotec chief executive, said: “The fact that Milltech’s success lies not only in drying but also in energy savings, was a crucial factor in our decision. “We can now supply complete solutions for drying and energy saving. The company already possesses considerable expertise in energy efficiency thanks to its highly successful steel drying cylinder – TT SYD – of which it has sold more than 90 units worldwide.”

‘Space race’ underway for Tissue World 2013

Leading tissue companies from across the global industry are moving quickly to make sure they don’t miss out on the most advantageous spots at the ultra-modern Fira Gran Via in Barcelona for Tissue World 2013.

The trade show is the ‘Big One’ in Tissue World’s cycle of top conferences in the US$70bn a year soft hygienic tissue paper industry, and it draws thousands of visitors from 88 countries on every continent.

It takes place on 18-21 March, 2013, and for the first time in Barcelona, one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

Previously held in Nice, southern France, the move is in response to a survey of all Tissue World visitors and exhibitors which showed a distinct preference for Barcelona, and for the event to remain on a two-year cycle.

The general principle is to begin rotating the big Tissue World event among a selection of cities.

The process of assigning exhibit space is well under way with companies rushing in to book their favourite positions.

The industry has welcomed the move to Barcelona and visitors have already started booking hotels.

TW organisers said the location offers excellent direct airline connections to Europe and the rest of the world, which are critical for such an international show.

Barcelona is home to an excellent range of restaurants and nightlife, a rich and worldfamous culture and architecture, and a welcoming, lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Tissue World has been held in Nice for nearly 20 years and it is expected to be held in a variety of cities in the future, including Nice.

It is supported by two smaller regional events, Tissue World Americas (Miami, this year in March) and Tissue World Asia (Shanghai, this year to be held in November).

Tissue World offers a unique combination of the high-level senior management conference, sharply targeted, hands-on technical sessions and workshops, and the giant trade show featuring essentially all of the world’s suppliers to the tissue business.
