Germany’s anti-trust authority the Bundeskartellamt has given its approval for a possible takeover of Arjowiggins’ French Greenfield de-inked pulp mill by German tissue producer WEPA.

According to reports, the company has submitted an application to the Bundeskartellamt for the takeover.

The site can produce up to 150,000tpy of deinked recycled pulp, and processes up to 230,000tpy of recovered paper.

WEPA and Arjowiggins were both unable to comment at this time.

The WEPA Group has plants located in France (two), Germany (five), Italy (two), the Netherlands (one), Poland (one) and the UK (one).
