China’s Guizhou Chitianhua Paper Industry has increased production of high-quality tissue products after starting up its second PrimeLineST tissue machine.

PM6 is based at the company’s Guizhou Province site and has a design speed of 2,000m/min and a paper width of 5.6m.

It will produce high-quality facial wipes and toilet paper and paper tissues based on bamboo furnish.

Supplied by Andritz, the machine combines a high-performance Yankee with a steam-heated hood.

With a diameter of 20 feet, it is among the largest in the world.

PM6 is the second 20-foot Steel Yankee to be started up by Guizhou Chitianhua.

Wu Mingxi, president of the tissue manufacturer’s parent group, Taison Group, said: “The two high-speed tissue machines contribute to a substantial reduction in operating costs compared to traditional concepts due to their innovative, energy-saving solutions.

“With the large Steel Yankees, we can produce high-quality tissue paper at high speed from the mill’s own bamboo pulp.”
