The machine is an Advantage DCT 100TS model supplied by Metso.

The record holding PM4 started up in 2006. This year Fabrica De Papel San Francisco also made a rapid start-up of its new PM5 tissue machine of the same model. That machine reached 2100 m/min production speed in only 12 days after start-up. The Advantage DCT 100TS tissue machines are equipped with a OptiFlo II TIS headbox, a 16-foot Metso Yankee cylinder, Advantage AirCap yankee hood, sheet control, tail threading equipment and an Advantage SoftReel P reel. The design speed of the 2.6-m-wide tissue machine is 2200 m/min. “The world record performance is achieved by excellent management and by operational skills of the two tissue making machine crews in combination with state of the art equipment,” according to Metso.

The celebration of the world speed record for tissue was held on 25 August at the mill. A plaque was handed over by Jan Erikson, Metso’s VP sales, Tissue Business Line, to Dario Palma y Meza E, Operations Director at Fabrica De Papel San Francisco. Fabrica De Papel San Francisco now operates four tissue production lines and converting facilities delivering tissue products for the Mexican market.
