HB Fuller launches PlyAble™ foam laminating system
HB Fuller has introduced the PlyAble™ System, a
tissue foam laminating system, created expressly for the tissue
and towel industries. This system uses a patented process to
provide ply bonding that preserves essential product tactile
properties and helps eliminate ply mismatch.
The new solution leverages the company's high-performance waterbased,
micro-foaming PlyAble™ adhesive in a patented method of
application. Using advanced spray technology from Spraying Systems Co,
the PlyAble™ System delivers optimal multi-ply bonding of toilet tissue,
paper towel and napkins. When dispensed with these proprietary nozzles,
the unique adhesive does not mist or cob-web in most applications.
Producers may get greater adhesive mileage, as less is needed and none
is lost due to over-saturation or clogged nozzles. Cleaner application and
precise control reduce downtime for maintenance during most production.
The engineered spray system can accommodate multiple automatic
spray nozzles, may be interfaced with the process system and permits the
manifold to be built more than 3 m wide. With independent controls for
air and liquid feeds, the PlyAble process provides ramp-up/ramp-down
capability and can perform at a rewinder speed up to 1000 m/min. Another
performance benefit is that scrap and waste are reduced.
Tissue and towels bonded with PlyAble adhesive retain softness, drape,
embossing and absorbency, properties vital for customer satisfaction.
The PlyAble™ solution is currently available for installation worldwide.
