Henkel: A strong partner in the tissue converting market
Following
the acquisition of National
Adhesives, Henkel now offers
"an even more robust and flexible core product range",
it says. Some
of the technological advancements
now available to Henkel customers
include FiberPlus, a range
of deep acting fibre softeners, unique to Henkel,
and laminating solutions,
Zellura and CycIoflex.
Henkel's FiberPlus series
is a range of cellulose softener products
designed to enhance customer
profitability. Suitable for toilet paper, napkins
and facial tissues, FiberPlus's
unique capabilities help to differentiate
customers' products from
that of the competition.
"FiberPlus brings something new to the table," said
Koen Schrooten,
Henkel's marketing manager
for the tissue industry. "There are many
lotions available which
claim softener capabilities yet are superficial in
that they act only on the
surface of the product. FiberPlus is an authentic
softener, applied to the
tissue during the converting stage, it sinks deep
into the paper fibres improving
softness through the layers, as well as
consistency, volume and
essential absorption properties."
FiberPlus is exceptionally
versatile and adaptable to customers' needs,
Henkel says. It can be
infused with fragrances and active ingredients such
as vitamin E and essential
oils to cater for specific customer requirements.
Furthermore it has production
and cost benefits. During production,
converting speeds can be
significantly increased, reducing time to market.
Additionally cost in paper
purchased can also be reduced.
"FiberPlus improves the integrity of the fibres used, creating
a high
value product even from
a low quality paper," commented Schrooten. "The
enhanced fibre also decreases
risk of product breakage
during production and can
be used with any existing
printing unit." The FiberPlus
range is forward thinking,
and
with its ease of use and
adaptive
nature, offers Henkel customers
a significant competitive edge.
Other new additions to
the
Henkel collection include
laminating innovations,
Zellura
and CycIoflex.
Zellura is a powder adhesive
designed for the lamination
process. It has excellent
penetration and adhesive
capabilities, according
to
Henkel, improving the integrity
of the end product. The
product
is also very clean running,
enhancing productivity through reducing
maintenance costs and down
time. Furthermore, its powder form allows
for savings and flexibility
in logistics.
Cycloflex is a repulpable
hotmelt, designed for lamination and tail
sealing, which allows for
recycling in the pulping process, reducing wastage.
Furthermore, in addition
to high performance adhesive properties and
production enhancement,
Cycloflex is fully water soluble, optimizing the
functionality of the end
product.
