Printemps in Lucca showcases new Perini technology
At
its Printemps in
Lucca open
house on 27 March,
immediately following
the Tissue World
exhibition in Nice,
Fabio Perini SpA
unveiled new solutions
aimed at improving the
entire converting and
packaging process. The
300+ guests from around the world saw the new
and innovative TIME800
rewinder, in-line with the Casmatic CUBE and
Casmatic CMW200 brand wrappers
and the Casmatic S35 bundler.
Today, line efficiency
and number of logs or packs produced are
consolidated goals that
every machine manufacturer must keep in primary
consideration. Fabio Perini
SpA and KPL Packaging SpA presented a
range of new technologies,
covering printing, embossing and packaging
solutions.
The TIME800 line attained
the record speed of 80 logs per minute,
which, translated into
production terms and considering a line efficiency
of 75%, translates into
one pallet per minute. Results never before attained
in converting, the company
says.
"The new TIME800 line is an example of technological evolution
that
conjugates innovation,
efficiency and automation," Perini says. "Starting
with the unwinder, passing
through the printer, the embosser and rewinder,
all the way up to the log
saw, this new line embodies a series of innovations
aimed at improving production
performance, working conditions and the
surrounding environment.
"Let us take as an example the unwinder model 375 with automatic
transfer that does not
require interrupting the production cycle, and hence
guarantees continuity.
New design, new stairways and new means of access facilitate web thread in
total safety, strictly conforming to the latest
European and US norms.
And novelties also for what concerns embossing,
with the model 479/D, designed
according to the criteria of flexibility and
versatility. The model
479 is able to run at high speeds, maintaining the
quality of lamination unaltered.
What characterizes this machine is the
speed with which it is
possible to replace the engraved sleeves, ensuring
a high degree of production
flexibility.

I_Print 984/4. A new, superior-category
machine that conjugates technology
and ingeniousness. Born
with the purpose of simplifying the operator's
work, this model features
the PCS (Positioning Control System) patented
by Fabio Perini SpA, a
revolutionary system that makes the new model
autonomous and unique.
The process is completely controlled by the
operator, and absolute
precision is guaranteed even at high speeds (760
m/min).
"Unique and innovative is also the approach that lies behind
the
I_Print's construction:
simplifying the work of the operator by allowing
him or her to manage the
four-colour printing process through the simple
push of a button. Product
change phases are performed through panel.
This reduces the chances
of error and makes the machine safer and more
efficient, eliminating
operator intervention.
"Today, overcoming present production limits is a challenge
for any

the new TIME800, production speed can
attain 800m/min, a sensational
result that makes this machine unique in
its category. The new TIME800
is capable of running at top performance
and high speeds, producing
up to 80 logs per minute without the use of
the 'punzoncini'-type log
growth control system, and up to 60 with its use.
