MEK-3000 TWIN-TORQUE™ – SMALL AND LIGHT
With its MEK-3000 TwinTorque™, BTG now offers a new shear-force consistency transmitter. Based on more than 80 years of experience in consistency measurement and a well proven measurement principle – more than 30,000 installations worldwide – the TwinTorque is designed as a trusty workhorse. It is suitable for use in all parts of the pulp and paper making process for measurements of consistencies in the range of 1-16 %.

Centrepiece of the TwinTorque is the twin motors, another of BTG’s patented designs. Each motor directly drives one axis which allows for a very compact design and improved precision of the torque measurement leading to optimal accuracy.

Benefits claimed for the new transmitter include:

  • Lowest possible installation costs through a single-phase power supply and minimised set-up. There is a reduced need for a measuring vessel, since a smaller weld-in stud can be used for many applications.
  • Tightest possible process control through superior measurement precision, fastest response and shortest dead time.
  • Proven reliability of its measuring principle, making it ultra-versatile and universal.
  • Lightweight – at only 13 kg it can easily be lifted by just one person.
  • Lowest maintenance: combining an extremely robust construction with a minimum number of wearing parts.
  • Suitable as replacement system, since it adapts easily to existing MEK installations.
  • Elaborate diagnostics to make troubleshooting easy.

The TwinTorque’s unique technology is complemented by a new leading-edge communication platform, the CPM. Besides the standard HART protocol, this unit offers a broader range of communication possibilities like profibus PA and fieldbus foundation. Nowadays a DTM is also available.
